Modeling For a
MAGAZINE PHOTO SHOOT
A Day In The Life of a Magazine
Model
What's it like to do a real
commercial modeling magazine photo shoot? This is Amy going through her very first
magazine photo shoot. Her ultimate goal beyond the money is getting her
first magazine tearsheet for her model portfolio. The
magazine she is modeling for is Teen Beauty Magazine which is scheduled to be
out in June. It has a circulation of over 3 million readers and can
be bought at local drug stores like Wal-greens, Osco Drugs, CVS and many
others. This fashion modeling assignment actually features 3 different models wearing 2 different shades of lipstick each. Models have
been booked for the assignment in California, Ohio and North
Carolina. An opportunity to be in a fashion magazine is extremely
important to your future as a fashion model.

Here's Amy as she arrives at the photo
studio of her first magazine assignment. Amy doesn't have supermodel height, but she
does have the supermodel desire. In fact, Amy is
just 5' 4" tall, far from the height most modeling agencies require you to be to work as a
model.

Here Amy is getting a first class model
make-over before going out to the studio for her photo shoot. The make-up artist
has years of professional experience in the business.
The hair for this
commercial modeling magazine shoot
requires a clean look to the face. The hair will be pulled back in a
ponytail to give the model the nice lines the editor wants in the pictures.

(Above left) Wardrobe is
important to your magazine shoot. Here is Amy showing some of the clothing
the client provided for her to wear during her magazine shoot.
(Above right) Amy
is given last minute instructions from the photo stylist who will be overseeing
all aspects of the photo shoot. In addition, the make-up artist is also prompted
about any potential changes which may need to be made once the photo shoot
starts.

Additional prepping is done on the
set in the studio by the commercial modeling photo stylist. As you can see, there were several wardrobe changes
for the looks the magazine client needed for their editorial illustration.

Some final last minute adjustments
to the accessories to make sure the pictures are picture perfect for the client.

The photographer directs and
gives Amy tips for modeling pictures as he guides her through poses to get just the right look for the magazine client. Then
the shooting begins one after another. The strobes are flashing and
excitement fills the studio as Amy works her magic in front of the camera!

Finally the shoot is over after 400+ photographs taken in one exciting fun-filled afternoon. It is
great to get
that first model shoot for a magazine. Below is a few of the images which will
be submitted to the magazine editor for the assignment. Amy did a great job on her very first
commercial modeling photo shoot. If you think you have what it takes to be a model in
a real magazine, be sure to fill out a
MODEL
APPLICATION.

can see, with the right staff of professionals almost anyone with the desire and
